Wind River Indian Reservation Casinos

I saw three different "casino" signs on the Wind River Indian Reservation on a recent trip to Riverton.

Many people must have worked very hard to make this newest and biggest casino, The Wind River Casino, a reality. The hard work of getting something you wanted for your area for that alone is an accomplishment. You can click here to go to the Wind River Casino website. From what I can tell, the old casino near the site of the new Wind River Casino will still be in operation and will be called "789 SMOKE SHOP AND CASINO". (I cannot find a web address for it)

St. Stephen's Mission

We drove to St. Stephen's Mission, located near Riverton Wyoming. It was deserted, really. Maybe it's always that way on a Saturday or maybe it had to do with the three young girl's deaths, ages 15, 14, 13, just days before our arrival to the area.

Ethete, Wyoming

I drove in and out and in and out of Ethete, Wyoming. I was looking for a road that turns out doesn't exist in that location, as my hotel map (hand made map, at that) had Ethete listed on the wrong road in the first place. (My map had Ethete on the same road as Ft. Washakie. I was surprised when I ended up in Ethete and frustrated by trying to follow the map I got in the Holiday Inn book). We ran out of time and were not able to get to where we wanted to go. Next time.

I also collect Wyoming pins and I am bummed I didn't go into the little blue casino/store to see if they sold an Ethete pin.
