Congratulations Elaina Zempel!

Congratulations to Elaina Zempel who was recently promoted from deputy to full regional director for the Wyoming Business Council.

Elaina Zempel is an amazing woman who has quickly risen the economic development ranks in the past two years since moving to Wyoming. Zempel moved to Wyoming from Montana when her husband took a job as principal at Kemmerer High School.

She became employed for a short period of time as director of the South Lincoln County Economic Development Council (SLCEDC) with an office in Kemmerer. Zemple was then hired as a new position of deputy regional director of the Wyoming Business Council, working with Ray Sarcletti. The area covered Uinta, Sweetwater, Sublette and Lincoln Counties.

Elaina recently (April 2008) had an article featured in The Wyoming Business Report titled, "Pride builds South Lincoln Center."

Zempel's promotion comes with the July 1st retirement of Sarcletti. The regions of the Wyoming Business Council have also be realigned, with a new "South Central" region being created that will retain Sarceltti's office in Rock Springs. Zempel will have an office in Kemmerer.

A statement from an email from Rachel Girt, marketing and public relations manager of the Wyoming Business Council states, "The Regional Offices are the first points of contact for the Wyoming Business Council. These offices work with: local economic development organizations, city and county entities, divisions of the Wyoming Business Council and the Wyoming business community to assist retention, expansion, recruitment and community development efforts. In the absence of active groups or individuals or expertise, Regional Directors may act on behalf of the relevant entity on economic and community development projects."

I really have enjoyed the opportunity I've had to get to know Elaina. She is an intelligent, fun person and I wish her the best of luck, although it doesn't appear she needs it!
